Release id #40234 : Super Juke Box VI

Anyone here who has this file ?

As the uploader is not responding to my PM and
he only seems to add stuff here but never uploads anything.

I think Perff would need to add a "upload also a file to
your entry rule".

So yes, I go with CBA; a new entry should only commited to the database when a file is uploaded too.

yeh I agree too.
what's the deal with not uploading files? bah I hate that

The notorious non-uploader.

I sent this person loads of PM's but he does not respond in anyway.
He keeps adding releases with screenshots but without the file itself.

I disagree. Like I've stated before: sometimes you know the info but don't have the file. In that case an entry still should be possible.

Sure but in that case you mention that you are missing this file or that the file is corrupt,

You don't add stuff while you have the file on your disk
at home

Niels

I've seen some ppl saying, oh yeah I will transfer it,
and well the day has still to come for alot of stuff
here on csdb that is missing :(

Hmm, where did the previous often quoted ideology of "CSDB is primarily for information" go? :)

So basically Perff should make a checkbox with "I don't have the file", and if it's not ticked, an upload should be mandatory, or else the entry will be invalid? ;-)

@Cadaver: it almost feels that way, doesn't it? Data > information in this day & age, even here.

Yes! , oh boy TDJ, would you be happy with csdb having
no files at all, just info?

I guess it would be very boring.

Niels, ofcourse I like having the files here as well, csdb is my #1 place to go if I want to download something (yes, even before TDD). But your constant 'where is the data' nagging overshadows the fact that this database is about INFORMATION first, DATA second.

I for one prefer to have an entry without a file over no entry at all. For the same reasons I've given many many times before.

You have a valid point of course, the information is the most important part of a database, and if the person adding the information also have the file it should be added otherwise it's a loss of the information only available in the file itself.
I can't see any valid reason not to add a file if you have one so it's not the kind of behaviour I would defend.

I personally think we should strive for as complete entries as possible, which means a file, complete credits (when possible) and a screenshot.
