Scramble Infinity - The GAME (not the ONS CRACK)

If you want to comment on the ONS crack(!), you can still do that here:
Scramble Infinity +2

Are people voting and commenting about the game or the crack? I’m confused.

The title screen is a work of art! I am awake in the middle of the night and I am rubbing my eyes with amazement.

Great game Mirage and fantastic to finally see it finished! Well done to all involved. :)

Fantastic game - but why are we all reviewing the game here? This entry is for reviewing the crack - which is surely for work done removing protection, adding trainers, the work done in sourcing the original (the dash to the computer shop, race home, upload to the boards, etc). It feels like the reviews here are for the game itself - so the wrong people are getting credit here :-(

I'll reserve my glowing review for the actual game release... when it happens. Jazzcat's link doesn't work for me - presumably because the devs deleted the release (as only they can do according to CSDb rules?): https://csdb.dk/forums/?roomid=12&topicid=153742#153747

I have been following this game since 2010, and was disappointed that it appeared in Games that Weren't 64. However 11 years later it finally sees the light of day. Well done Mirage & Jammer for finishing off this game. No longer are we disappointed ;)

not saying "too hard" there - its just significantly harder than the anirog version (which i can basically play forever when you wake me up at 3am) :=)

The comets are not that hard really, if you know how to avoid them...

I can play the game through easily 4 or 5 times, at which point the game has become relatively hard, because the fuel you gain from tanks decreases each play-through.

..and to add to that. Great graphics!

Gameplay difficulty ramps up considerably once the meteor shower arrives. If that fails to wipeout the player, the maze that follows probably will.
As interesting as the in game title screen music sounds, something more 80's Arcade would have worked better. Just my 2 cents :)

Looks very good.... plays a bit different than the original, not sure if better or worse :) Collisions are a tad too forgiving, Meteors are really hard compared to Anirog Version. Need to check a bit more :)

What I found funny was the title picture being ripped from Nemesis the final challenge, looks very cool, however :)

Imho difficulty level is not so different from original game.

Music is a blast, both Dane's and Jammer's (menu tune bass made my whole Stereo dance)

As far as I understand, it's out now.

The year 2022 in the title 'zzap!64 2022 annual' is a bit confusing, because it's released in 2021, but as far as I understand it, it's a bit like buying a 2022 calendar in 2021 - It's not 2022 yet, but you can buy the calendar in 2021, if that makes any sense :)

Dudes, it's not that Mods are bored and got nothing else to do than migrating your comments to forums.

Would be great if ir's understood now what Crack Comments are for and what belongs here, otherwise, Mods need to lock comments for some days to avoid unneccessary extra work

Guess it has been chosen on purpose: Gradius (Nemesis in US/EU) is generally considered to be the straight progeny of the revolutionary Konami's "Scramble", a horizontal shmup built up on a vertical monitor.

You are a legend that made a fantastic game! Congrats! And the comments about how great the game is is not really the same as how good a crack of a game is.

The game looks absolutely stunning, looks like some incredible work here - again. I didn’t get my Zzap!64 Annual yet and want to make sure I see the game in its original form (though I’m sure Onslaught didn’t break it) so I’ll wait till that arrives I think.

If it’s as good as Sprite Invaders then I think we may well have the game of 2021 here.

Crack seems fully functional, but misses the directory art of the original, afaict. =)

The directory art is the best part of the game ;)

(Seriously, took me quite a while to make that, it being the first time I really did any PETSCII and all. Quite happy the way it turned out, though.)

There was no C64 scene release of the game despite the crack. Maybe look for it on the "Kickstarter Scene Base" if that is even a thing... - or wait "some weeks" until the kickstarter backers are done with enjoying their exclusive directory art that is missing in the ONS crack (?!?) – at least that's what I've heard ... *shrug*

Serious mode: I guess the reason for this thread is exactly that ONS did want to give proper credit to the creators and not having everyone praising the game in their crack release entry. So until the game is officially released this thread *is* the place to leave your praise.
