Event id #3187 : X'2023

A quick clarification request for the 4k intro compo rules:

"Your entry must start at $0801 with a basic start and may not exceed $17ff"

Does this mean that the intro must not use ANY other mem area than 0801-17ff at any point, or is decrunching allowed after load? How about ZP usage? Cheers!

Yep. So there’s no limit per-se.. just acceptable levels of boredom before someone kills it?

Tolerance levels are increasing every year. Before we were allowed to press space.

I phrased it like this in Propaganda: "a quick note to people/groups planning to enter the demo competition: we are using a real C64, it does not have warp-mode. Please think about the audience when timing your parts, having to watch a single part for multiple minutes without any action, can be perceived as quite boring during the show. You might want to implement press space functionality, or better, shift-lock to hold parts."

Damn, back to the old drawing board!

Unless you mean 1/2 pixel per frame scrollers can run for an hour and a half? :-P

Mid of March has passed for some time now. Where can we get expensive first class tickets to X now?

Some of us still have to make sure their employer lets them travel to covid islands this June and ensure vacation times... or check flights, reservations, ensure car transportations...

Updates?
