Release id #250128 : Print Graphics Compressions - The Rest

Neon Vincent, can you tell me more about where these images came from, which are your own for example..? And any ideas where to find the full credits?

Also, someone said that some of the images are cropped .. so presumably they come from scrolling images? Ideally I would add the full size images to C64GFX…

Would be great to get more of these.

I’ve no idea of the correct form for CSDb.. I gather that these collections are quite old - were they ever spread to the scene? “Release Date” should be the first spread - if that’s this week then, fine, but if they were spread years ago, the release date needs to be set for that (unless it’s not known…..).

Ah. I see you eliminated dupes. That made it a lot faster and easier. The only one I recognize as mine is Big Scaid, which was a test file I created to see just how big one of my compressions could be when each cell had a different color and a different character. Afterwards I thought it looked just a little artistic so I included it.

I see you didn't do Bullseye or Kill Hussein. Just sayin'. They're not in the PGC compressed volumes but they are in the included 2nd print disk.

Everyone following this thread, please keep me in mind if you ever come across the scroller for The Atlanta Penitentiary BBS from the mid-'80s. It's several screens tall and shows a guy behind bars, head to foot if I remember right.

Raistlin, I found a trove of seq files and I'm going to sift through them and send you anything interesting. One thing is certain: Cyborg Eddie from the Favorites is a scroller, a couple screens tall. Also, the big Elephant face is a scroller; he has a trunk!

Please recommend a good seq reader. Or several. I've been going nuts with klunky seq readers that don't work well with emulators.

petconv (20190906) will/can convert a seq file into a standalone prg file that shows the file (as said, send me a PM with your email and you may try the current WIP one, which has many fixes and new features)

as for viewing them on the c64, i made SEQ Viewer for tyron long ago, perhaps that one does the trick for you.

Any similar program should work fine in VICE though :)

OK, I'll check these out. The thing is, most of the cool stuff I'm finding is from huge buffer saves from CCGMS back in the old BBS days. Sysop chats mixed with mail mixed with C/G mixed with logins and logouts... generally a mess.

I'll see what I can do and get back to you. It might end up being best to just send YOU the mess and let you wade through it... %*D

Ok, Baracuda released one of the pics on his website (c64 ch) which I added to CSDb here: Bleeding Heart .. I stopped with this one as I'm not sure that flooding CSDb with these pics is actually the right thing to do.

One thing, though.. that pic has the "RB" initials (RudeBoy) .. so I wonder why it's different to the one in your collection - did you remove sigs from pics when you were collecting them?

No, but the people I collected them from may have.
