Group id #185 : Excess

I've just seen the demo Delirious from Excess. It was made in 1988 and was coded by Raistlin. Is that a different group than this one? If you need to see the demo, just check http://www.c64.ch and check the latest entries.

Merry christmas to you all!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the current (German) Excess is not that old .. Raistlin ofcourse joined G*P later so I guess this was his starter-group or sth.

No i thought the same. I saw the releases from the current Excess don't go further back as 1992. The demo i got is from 1989 and there are a lot more members who were later in other famous groups. Most of them are from the U.K.

Excess was a UK demo group which started around 88/89, raistlin was a member along with crime, nermal, andy and some other i cannot recall right now. Raistlin coded 2 or 3 of his delirious demos under the excess label before leaving to join FBR and then GP.

There were two groups called 'Excess' one was based in the UK from 1988. Raistlin released various demos, and tools, and coded his own intros.

In 1991/2 Excess, a German based group was launched and started cracking commercial games. I know one or two people from Germany's Excess, due to being good friends :)

Excess was formed by Red Rock,Darkman,Firelord and me in 1991. The UK Excess was unknown for us at that time. We heard from them one year later. In the pre www-times some things lasted much longer to get informed.

Thanks for the info Sentinel! Just to clarify: in the group entry also Genocide and Bigfoot are listed as founders. True, or is it wrong info?

To complete my last post i have to add Bigfoot and Genocide to the formers of Excess, if you name the one who were members from the beginning. Genocide wasn´t active in Excess anymore and Bigfoot isn´t worth to mention anymore. He was a very active Swapper beside Darkman but was intolerable due to his right paroles in his notes from early 1993 on...
Both, Genocide and Bigfoot were not involved in the decision to let the old group die and form Excess. That were Red Rock, Darkman, Firelord (Silver Striker till 1992) and me.
