Entries falsely marked as REU Releases

Just noticed that quite a lot of prods seem to be falsely marked as REU Releases. Has some entry type been renamed to REU Release, which could have caused this, or has someone randomly changed the type of entries?

No. "Other Platform C64 Tool" are tools that is run on Windows, Mac or Linux etc. Pixcen is one example, exomizer another. I guess you are asking because of the new stuff emerging for the Ultimate. Until we have a specific category, or a flag-system, I believe we have to cosider the Ultimate another platform. It's not the optimal solution, however. I would love to see a flag system instead, but that will take some time to implement, and Perff is the guy to do it, and he is not exactly coding on CSDb on a daily basis anylonger. My main goal is to minimize the "tags" added in the release name and move all of these to flags instead.

How do you mean the 1541Ultimate, 1541Ultimate+, Ultimate-II and Ultimate-II Plus is a different platform?

The cartridges are addons, but the 64 Ultimate have other hw specs than a real C64, obviously, with software only working on that very hw. In a way it's more related to the DTV (which is considered a category of its own) than a original C64, as it has specific modes and perks. So: Either you follow tha logic of DTV and put the ultimate in a category of its own, or you go the Groepaz way and implement the flag system, which I think is a good idea, but I don't see that happening soon, as Perff seems a but busy.

Those terms for ultimate are bbs sw and should stay like that, and I re-changed the release type for them.
The new release types are just adding a mess, they should be reverted to the actual release type demo/tool/game/crack and flags really implemented.
Other platform tool should be only for other systems. (dos/win/nix/mac/amiga)
Even SCPU and C128 should be a tag, not hiding the actual release type.

I agree with ian here. We need that flag system implemented first, however, then kill off the categories. The logic with SCPU and DTV etc, started this, and after some user requests to better sort out EF-releases we started to implement categories like that. Looks like we should have killed off the categories instead and go for the flags. I really hope Perff have some time to do this. I will poke him.

Cash let me have his collection to find lost releases IF I credited him for all finds... Not that hard tribute to pay, when it's a fucking treasure chest, I'd say. Better that than to let these finds rot. Sorry if I spam. I have to.

Yes, I'm impressed with how much undiscovered stuff is found in his collection, and the effort that is done to preserve it. Sorry if my wisecrack was taken the wrong way. Keep up the good work!
