ICC 2020 with 16k & 4k or 16k only again?
How about ICC 2020 with the same rules as 2019?
Intro Creation Competition 2019
4k category was a great success last time but it cut off the amount of 16k entries. It may be that the 4k is too hard or the possibilities of that limit were already exploited by last time's entries.
What do you think? |

I have an almost finished 4K demo (80-ish per cent done) that was supposed to enter last year's ICC. Alas, i ran out of time.
As the restrictions of ICC are so unique, it would be an utter waste to finish that thing and enter it anywhere else.
So yes, i'm strongly FOR a 4K section of another ICC instalment.
And last years' entries did not nearly exploit the limits of the 4K format, plus there were more 4K than 16K entries, so i goess "too hard" is ruled out as well. =) |

4K is 4x better than 16K ^^
How about adding a 2K and 1K section?
Gonna compete anyway, but think 16K only (which basically means no meaningful restriction at all) would be the worst choicse. |

Oh, heck!
I am so not inspired this year... :\
But, anyway, I personally vote for either 4K combined with 16K or just 8K again.
I seem to work best with some tough restrictions and deadlines. ;) |

Really, just enter any of the regular executable size-restricted (not run-time memory size-restricted*) compos, and all the RAM is yours.
But then, we do need more worthy one-filed demos to continue the tradition of Dawnfall and One-Der (but releases like those can enter any regular demo compo without being ashamed of anything).
* This is the main unique limitation i mentioned in the second post of this thread. |

Whats holding you back anyhow? As in Didi's case, mostly time. I have more that 10 soldering-related projects laying around (actually in one big box) and several retro computers that need various fixing that wait for it also :) And, I'm not Didi nor I have his knowledge to make a really great menu atm.
All that is needed in this compilation for return to menu is JMP $FCE2 (with ROMs enabled) after space is pressed. I could start to slowly modify one by one, but it will take good ol' time :) |

Collection will hopefully done before ICC 2020 ends. Usually I do a bit more than just exchanging the JMP $FCE2 e.g. I don't like exits with blue JSR $FF5B flashes in a collection, so I fix that and other minor stuff before linking. |

If you think 4K is "mined", why not allow C128 4K, mix it up a bit. The 128 could give you a "bit more" or make things that where not possible before possible. (and cause some fun rule bending ;) ) |

I think going on Didi's nerves with "You may not launch Compo before linking/releasing last compo's results" was not the best idea in the first place. |

What's open is the results collection(s). Hopefuilly it will be ready before ICC 2020 ends. I'll try.
