MCL64 – WORLD’S FASTEST COMMODORE 64
This open source project seems to be very interesting.
I hope someone can test this product and help implement new features for example REU etc.

I fail to see the point - but if you want to have those things, you should work on them :) |

It would be possible to replace JAM instructions and NOP duplicates with new custom instructions very easily. |

The title "world's fastest" seems odd given it only cranks up the CPU emulation, to 600Mhz, but a 6502 has already been emulated at 15GHz (https://scarybeastsecurity.blogspot.com/2020/04/clocking-6502-t..) |

Yes you're right, but mcl64 is a drop-in circuit board for the Commodore 64's MOS 6510.
You have to compare it with device used with c64 like Scpu, Turbo Chameleon etc... |

I think you’re missing the point. Projects like this are driven by enthusiasts. Nothing will happen and no feature will be implemented unless an enthusiast implements it. What mere users like you and me wants doesn’t matter with projects like this. If you really want a feature you need to step up and contribute. |

I think he understands that, but what if he lacks the knowledge / time / motivation, but still whishes for some features ? God forbid he expresses it on a forum ? When I coded project1 I got a lot of feature requests, should I have told the gfxers that STFU here is the source, go and code it for yourself ?
Having a 2nd look I think the original intent was to raise awareness here, and urge some guys to go help if they want. |
