1581 for demos
C64 demos use the 1541 disk drive, what are your objections against using 1581?
Would I be disqualified from a compo for using a 1581 drive? |

Krills and Dreamload both do 1581, perhaps also cadavers |

true. you right I somehow missed that ;)
I will just add that now, when ultimates support 1581, it may make more sense to do demos on ~800kb discs. I think that this C128 grfx collection from DK, Jackasser and the bunch runs from d81. right? |

Would I be disqualified from a compo for using a 1581 drive? At X for sure. 1581 availability is pretty bad and not part of standard setup. Other parties/compos may have other rules though, for sure it could be admissible at wild compos |

How about a CSDb 1581 compo then? I guess there would only be a few entries but still =D |

If Datastorm was still running I'd be tempted to allow 1581 in the regular C64 demo compo. Just announce it properly and let voters decide. |

I had a demo sent to me for 1581 last Gubbdata. No problem. If the orga don't have a 1581, there is the pi1541 with 1581 compability easily available. But yeah, the 1581 demos should have their own compo. |

Vandalism ships on 1581 and that is released at Syntax. |

It just happens to also work on 1581 though.... by that measure we already have quite a bunch of "1581 demos" :) |

So back to actual demos using the 1581 for more than just loading: |
