I've heard from someone that Rob said demos were surely fake and he questioned them running on a real C64. Was it a token of appreciation via disbelief? I hope so :D Anyone has more insight on this?

I've heard this but the fake part was not in my version, only that he asked if this or that demo runs un a real c64

I was sitting next to Rob during the demo compo. He noticed we were running the demos from a laptop and not straight from the C64. He called it cheating as it was like a cartridge upgrading hardware, etc.

Although I tried to explain the concept behind the Ultimate products and I mentioned that every release should be working on a stock C64 + DD he was kind of sceptic. I was probably too drunk and not able to explain it clearly in the heat of the moment.

I promised to send him some yt links with more info on the subject but I have not been able to do that. Besides he left after the final compo break as he was exhausted from meeting a great number of you. I believe that talking to other people is what motivated him most.

On breakfast on sunday he said about the same to me aswell. To his belief demos should be loaded into c64 ram and executed from there with like sys49152.

He said we were streaming the demos from floppy like a movie. I tried to correct it the limited time of talk we had.

So he simply digs one-filed demos, nothing wrong with that view =D

I updated the German and English Wikipedia article of Rob to have A recent picture of him. :) I think it shows his passion and fun. And remember: stop smoking!

Well, I can die in piece now at least :)
Whomever form the organizers who assisted with the connect, many thanks.

AND, also forgot to say earlier; Kickass party, everything as it should be. Special thanks to the organizers for making last minute adaptations to handle the new type of sceeners :)

Thanks for great party, if you missed my "NOT ONLY BLACK BOX - Cartridges developed in Poland" lecture then I just finished editing it:

Fortunately I did record it on my own because it looks like it was not saved by video team.

BTW how is it possible to upload photos to this: https://www.scs-trc.net/gallery/ ?

Looking at the X nametag hanging here, I remember one request for next time:

USE A BIG FONT SIZE FOR THE HANDLES! :-)

We're old farts, reading a 16px name on a nametag a meter away, dancing on a fat belly, makes it hard to read. I wanna see who's who from 3 meters distance so I know whether to swoon at the elite or scoff at the lame!
