Quote: Quoting CreaMDone can only imagine the impact it would have if monumental jaw-dropping productions like Mojo, Wonderland XIV, and Next Level (just to name a few that deeply resonated with me while watching the stream) were intentionally unveiled at major (cough) demoscene events like Revision.
I can imagine: it would not even get close to the impact these demos have at X and the c64 scene.
X *is* one of the two/three major parties in the entire scene. Only revision is bigger and it has no focus on the C64, there are zero C64-only compos and amount of c64-visitors is very low at revision compared to X.
also, this is the weirdest post party thread ever.
Don't worry, I'm not on the mission here. X is huge. Revision (and other) parties that turned all old to oldschool eintopf pretty much suck thanks to "trying to please everyone".
But still, we (The Scene) should either totaly ignore it, or make an organized creative assault.
Naah forget it, im pretty satisfied by having parties that are organised and visited by people I love and care about. And having just the categories and events that actually matter to me. |

A weird post-party discussion indeed. All I can say is that I'm glad all these magnificent proofs of skill (multi-group or not) were released at a dedicated party, to a dedicated audience, rather than being stuffed into an "oldschool" compo alongside accelerated Amigas and fantasy consoles, in between photo and finger painting compos. :) But can't please everyone, I guess. |

Just like to say Thank u to the X-team for organizing that great party. Its was my second time, i had the chance to visit it, as the last one in 2018, i loved and breathed the atmosphere.
Great people, old like me and you with the same values and addiction. I was impressed by all that great entries, and the released stuff where just an perfect example of pure skill. Wow.
Hopefully 2024 will be a "Summer" Party with Sun and Outside activities too. Still sitting in my Office with a smile.
Perfect sleeping conditions, showers, food and beer. Great Compos. Wishless happy faced at home, still sorting my memorys. |

What can I say?
That was such an amazing party, something that I'll remember very fondly for the rest of my life. I want to say a massive thanks to the entire orga team for looking after me so well and for delivering an incredibly slick event. Seriously, your efforts were absolutely not taken for granted. You are all heroes to me for making it all happen as you did.
It was a massive pleasure to finally meet so many scene legends and dear friends in person. I only wish that I could repay you all for your kindness - the C64 scene helped me to keep my brain's lights on through some really bleak and difficult times, so to enjoy all of those top-tier compos and live performances with friends, with the dark clouds of the pandemic largely diminished, was extremely gratifying. Thank you so much for including me, and let's make sure we do it all again next year! |

I found it very soothing to be at X, the people and organizers are so relaxed, not stressed at all, it feels like family. , though all scaled to a larger size than ever before. People stick to the rules without the need to enforce. Tim was so relaxed that he had several occasions to have a nice chat with me. Thanks for allowing me to have 4! spicy meatballs! :-P People queued up with all necessary patience. The orgas reacted always with understanding and the focus on finding a solution to make us visitors happy. The bar team was always kind and helpful with drink selection and was giving a smile and funny comments. It all felt so grown up, easy and settled. I could have enjoyed that for many more days! Thanks for an excellent all-inclusive holiday in Someren <3 |

Quoting Bitbreaker... People stick to the rules without the need to enforce. ... Thank you for calling this out, it is *key* to the atmosphere at X. It's like having a big party with close friends, of course you get very drunk, but you don't trash the place :)
Thank you very much for your kind words :) |
