Cartridges?

Hi, what cartridges do you use on your original C64?.
And is it possible to update an action replay?, i have version 4.2, but have downloaded roms to version 7.5 to use in emulators.

Thanks James.

Quote: The Action Replay MK VI has an LSI-Custom-Chip and isn't 'flashable' or 'updatable' 'cause afaik it's a ROM.
But the Version PITCHER has is based on an EPROM. Should be possible to upgrade this one.
I did a scan of my 4.2 to explain what to do.
Look at http://home.arcor.de/tub64/c64/ar42.jpg
burn an EPROM wich fits in this socket and *works*

Yes have took the case of it and it has a removeable eprom by the looks of it, although it does look different to the scan you have done.

Get yourself a Retro Replay and you can flash new ROM contents as often as you want.

While I've no clue if you can still purchase one of these carts, there is a website to visit and prolly some phone calls will be made.

http://rr.c64.org/

What I did was clicked on INTRO on the left. Then under "THE NEW HARDWARE", click "HERE" and all the ordering info came up. According to the site, shipping started in October of 2001, so I hope the information will still provide you with a way to order one of these fascinating carts.

Googling is TOO easy in my opinion.
Some people even google, to get the right spelling for unkown english words. That 'google-ism' is dangerous, 'cause it pushes this g-thing to the top, dropping all the other search-engines to the ground... No Good!
I think, there's nothing wrong with asking living people.
'Cause I looked by myself, even I know more by now!

On my real C64? Cartridges I own are Jupiter Lander, OCP Art Studio printer cartridge for the STAR LC 200 colour printer. Clowns (Does not seem to work with either keyboard or joystick must be faulty)

However the cartridge that I use the most, is the Action Replay MK VI cartridge. I used this many times to debug any code I wrote (if losing assembly code in Turbo Assembler, this is usually the best option) or analysing data/code routines. I even used this to hack SEUCK games to add music to the title screens :)

Richard, Clowns uses paddles I believe.

I have 30-40 carts, too many to list from memory. However, the ones I can remember are my AR5, Expert Trilogic, Pastfinder, Wonderboy, Pitfall, Pitfall2, Epyx Fastload, most if not all of the C= games (international soccer etc) several times over, Pacman..... etc

I have a few rarish ones, including a few copies of that red cart that was supposedly banned for its drug references?
