Phalsberg (c) 1986 ERE Informatique

I know that Mr.Fox/HF has this game as an original --
and it's very rare.
Back in 2004 he said he would release a english translated version of this game. I wonder what happened to it ?

Yep. He has the French original.

I haven't heard anything about it for quite sometime.

I guess the translation itself is causing the delay?

I found the English original of this game, but unfortunately
it's not complete, It seems I am missing the B side.
Also the original was not working, I first had to undo some
disk protection and several other nasty little things ;)

So question to all of you :

Do you have the "B" side of this game, and how many disk sides
is this game in total ?

I know that Mr.Fox has the French original, hopefully he
can already help me out with a bit more info.

Further releasing the original I have is useless because
it's not playable, it keeps on asking for the B side.

Niels

Nice.

As the original is so rare I wonder if it has ever been released officially in the shops?

I have the g64/d64s of the french version, but I'm not sure it's cracked at all, I refuse to even try playing it to test =)
I did anyway a slideshow of the (ugly) pix and also included the sid rip, sid already sent to HVSC, but without Mr.Fox approval I can't (repeat: I CAN'T) send the d64s around. Will try to contact Antonio one more time, but it's about a year he doesn't reply to mails, some one probably can track him on ebay where he seems to be active buying lotsa originals, as usual =)

Hey Ian,

Since you have the .d64/g64, you can at least answer
my question on how many sides the original has
and do a print out of the directories for me,
that would already help me.

At the request of Rob Nicoletti I translated this game from French to English and send the files to Valerie (or Mr.Fox) in 2004. Since then Valerie has not replied to any e-mail I've sent him and I'm indeed very sad about how this whole thing developed.

Indeed, my first motivation in translating the files was to help Valerie bring the game out sooner. Still, nothing came out of it.

The game should be 1 disk (2 sides) only. I'd appreciate if you'd send me the 1st side you have in my e-mail address: constantinople[at]gmx.net

It would help me update the relevant section in my "Forever Lost?" article found at:
http://www.gb64.com/oldsite/lost2.htm

To: iAN CooG

I could test the game in the D64/G64, if you ask Valerie permission to send me a copy. It's a pity for it to remain lost forever.

Best Regards

Don't know to tell the truth. I assumed it's just one side of the game due to GTW info: http://gtw64.retro-net.de/Pages/p/Review_Phalsberg.php

Yeah it does appear ACS released the game, which was badly spread... but who knows, no intro, no full version, one bugged disk side only. So will be nice when the proper translated version is released (not the poor English original which is no where to be seen).

Google translates the first paragraph into
"there it is, the past few weeks, the dump Phasberg, one of the rarest games on the Commodore 64 (and PC) is now available. Game created by Michel Valentin / age!"

This might be the "disturbance" mentioned in the intro?

It means that somebody had also found this rare original and transferred it to a .g64 images.

Iopop: your right ;)

It translates more correctly as something like: "here it is, after several weeks,...". So I guess this guy has been trying to unearth the game on his own then? But on the other hand, he doesn't appear to have it in his posession: "Si vous possedez ce jeu, il mÂ’intéresse ;)" = if you own this game, I'm interested.

And in other news, I have yet to meet a straightforward Frenchman.

I'm assuming this game is some sort of "adventure"? Considering the rules about English translation is ignored for this entry.

My thought was this rule was for huge text adventures or games similar to Soul Crystal that have disk sides of text.

Instead of assuming just download it and you can see that
the game is a RPG that was missing since ages.

Looking back at how long the game has been missing it makes it one of most important releases lately :) Good work guys!
