St:LCP 2008

After crawling through shit, piss and slime, and a little-longer-than-usual, another incarnation of the LCP series of parties has taken form.

Date: 1-3 August.
Location: Lund, Sweden.
Website: http://lcp.c64.org

Be quick to sign up!

Some of you might remember that I stated that LCP would be in Copenhagen/Denmark this year, but this changed due to 99 circumstances.

Yours,
Frantic of Hack'n'Trade

@Sander: I see. I hope you're aware that Copenhagen is 40 minutes by train from Lund.. ..and it is quite cheap. ...in case you happen to have som specific reasons for going to Copenhagen too.

Anyway, the party place I almost managed to rent in Copenhagen might be a option for another LCP next year. Maybe..

Nice to see all the people who signed up already! :)

A bit interesting to see that a party in Copenhagen might in fact have some potential of attracting more "euro visitors" (even though I have been quite satisfied with the number of visitors from europe on previous LCP/BFP parties..

Anyway, now shut up those of you who can't come. Let the enthusiasts speak! ;)

Atleast it´s quite close to "Hallands nation", and unfortunately quite far from Burger King. However Stash, "Rolles gatukök" is near and could possibly supply a stoned _elephant_ with unhealthy food. :D

Great, I'll try to compete with some C64 music this time.

Both Rolles and the pizzeria are good, but I wouldn't worry about getting to BK. /Someone/ will drive there!

Some time ago Gum/Alter gave me alot of computer stuff which I have planned to give away at St:LCP. Among the stuff is a cmd ramlink which seems to be fully working, so I wonder if anyone needs one? And by needs I mean needs it for running a bbs or some other cool project, not need it for adding it to ones collection of unused hardware

Hey Hollowman!

I never tried a RamLink first hand, but I know Jerry used to run The Studio from one of those devices. I might be interested in it, if nobody else has greater need ofcourse. I guess I should google a bit and see if I can find info about it.

I guess the accesstimes would be faster than on my CMD HD? Does it have jiffydos built in? What kind of RAM modules can be used? So many questions... :)

Did you ask Sledge by the way, he might have need for it when putting WaQ back online?

Anyway, if nobody else expresses interest in it, I'm interested. Nice gesture by Gum by the way, eventhough it's a bit of a shame that he has no interest in the hardware himself anymore it's always nice with people who thinks about the greater good of the scene even after quitting.

...and oh, yeah... on a related issue, I'm always looking for working c128 powersupplies as my stash is shrinking (running a BBS 24/7 takes it's toll on old powersupplies), so if anyone has one as a gift or sale for a decent price, bring 'em to St.LCP and we deal! :)

Yes, it has jiffydos built in, I think all ramlink do. As I recall when Gum first got it to use it for running a bbs he had it equipped with the maxium of 16 MB of ram. Looking into the device it has 4 memory modules with chips labelled HY5117400A J-70.
I'll ask Sledge since I know he is on the hunt for a ramlink. A difference is that you are running a bbs already, and I am sure you will actually use it ;)

I got a couple of c128 power supplies from Mazy/Noice when he gave away his old data stuff. But they are at my dads place, and I havent tested them.

And if it's any comfort, Gum did keep one fully functional c64 setup for himself =)

Also I got a battery backup unit for reu/georam, if its of use for anyone

Taper: how about you bring a C128 and we mod it to DC and make a powersupply from a good quality ATX PSU? That should solve the problem.

Next up from Gums collection:

One Vic20 with rf modulator and the black brick power supply. Seems to work fine.

Another Vic 20, this one looks a bit funky since it's put in a c64 case with keys from different keyboards(which dont fit the charset), the connector on the vic side of the rf modulator looks like it needs to be replaced, but the machine itself is fully functional and it has a regular c64 power supply.

Anyone who needs one? Perhaps something for Shadow to code for while waiting for a plus4? ;)

Also, for the handy oceanic man there are three oceanic drives, all without power supply. One works if fed with disks it likes, the other two say read error on track 18.

Wow, that is even better! Hehe, I just skimmed the thread and I thought you were listing stuff you were going to sell.
I actually saw a Vic20 for sale for only 200 SEK right when I got in the door at BFP2007 and thought "Yeah, I'm SOOO going to buy that". But when I had hooked up my stuff and returned, it was already sold. I have been regretting that for a year now! :)

Hollowman: Sounds sweet! Let's see if Sledge has a good reason then, if not I would love to use the Ramlink with Antidote!

And yes, it is actually a comfort to know that Gum still owns one setup. Just in case he decides to make a comeback! :)

Magervalp: Now, that's an interesting idea... Let's talk more about that, I'll mail you!

...that said, I always crave c128 PSU's anyways, since I have more c128's than PSU's allready. BBS, two work-setups, the party machine.. all c128's... ;)

hey taper, you wanna trade some SIDs for PSUs? :) I think I should have 3 or 4 C128PSUs, maybe that could mean 3 or 4 SIDs (preferrably 8580... since it's summer) for me ... ? I promise I will take good care of them!! (arerhmm..)

goto80:No way, man! I heard horror stories about the amount of SID's you've fried during the years! I really hope Mogwai's SID protection will keep you from butchering more one it's completed! ;)

Also, I have more computers than SID's too I'm afraid.

I'm kinda looking for a machine with 8580, since my only one fried at Jamaica ROM, and the replacement C64C I got has a 6581. Anyone willing to part with one, or trade?

When we are at the topic of buying/selling I'm looking for some 5"25 disks, I have been rewriting my poor test-disks so many times now I'm starting to fear that I might wear them out.

radiant: You mean, trade a 6581-machine for a 8580-machine? I might be interested in that, yes.

Shadow: Do you want me to add that to the site? Just send me a PM with the exact phrases (in english) to cut/paste on the LCP page, and I'll do that.

All of you: Feel free to come up with party suggestions in this thread. I am listening!

Frantic: Are the compo-deadlines of the same relaxed type as on BFP2007 (ie. hand in your demo sometime before the compo starts...)?
I won't be making it down until saturday afternoon probably, and have entries for both C64 and mixed platform compo...

I'm looking for 2 x 4 MB "single sided" 72pin DIMM's for my A1200. Or if anyone want to sell a Blizzard card for a reasonable price I might be interested as well.

Since I will move pretty soon I will start to sell off redundant C= stuff. I have some C64, VIC20 and A1000 for sale or trade if anyone's interested.

I've got a C64C to offer without power supply. The filter seems a bit muffled (but otherwiwse fully working), but maybe it can be fixed by changing the capacitor. Better ask Mogwai :)

Also, I'd like to part with my MMC64. I'd like to have 400 SEK for it, which I guess is a bit much, but I badly need the money.

I have a Prophet 64 music cart that I'll leave to you for 300 SEK.

Finally I have a working 1541 without serial cable that'll be yours for 300 (or highest bid). Sorry for the tradera prices, but as I said, I'm short on money.

Pretty unrelated, but if you want an FM synth that pairs well with an Atari ST, my FB-01 is yours for 500 SEK.

Note that there might be some streaming of live-acts from St LCP (depending on whether Jucke and/or Goto80 thinks that is a good idea or not). Keep an eye open for links to such streams on the homepage (in the news).
