Joe was a Canadian C64 coder who moved to the US to work with me at Sega during the Dreamcast era.

He had a good friend that is active on FB as well who confirmed the sad news: Sub-Zero
He did post this back at the end of January:
I am sad to announce that I have stage 4 esophageal cancer and have been given less than six months to live. I was originally diagnosed back in November, but chemotherapy didn't work; I have tumors in my chest, lungs, heart and liver.
Not sure how it happened or when it started, but at least I am in a managed care facility where I can be safe and comfortable. |

Damn sad to hear this. We had a lot of fun back in the day. I wish I'd known he had moved to Indy, I'd have driven up to see him. |
