photos of computer setups
I have started collecting photos of "8-bit" computer set ups. I think it is fascinating to see the places where all kinds of computer magic happens/happened. I am mostly interested in home settings - rooms from any time and any place. Demoscene relation is good but not necessary, hi-res photos are preferred (with credits), informative texts and and stories is excellent.
Possibly, this is something that would be published aswell.
With a collection like this it is possible to see what was behind all those screen, to contextualize digital works with a physical place. Postdigital, as the theorists say. We wanna see your data office!
Spread the word! If you are interested, or just have some links and input, please post here or e-mail info@goto80.com. Or bring them to LCP! :) Thanks! |

It's just the first set up try in the new room. The room is deticated to 8Bit glory and my other hobby cars. I have lotsa gear that have to be moved up here :) |

Just cleaned up my room a little and made some photos, knowing that the room will look like a mess again in a few days.
My favorite C64 and Atari setups in front of a very old Grundig PAL TV and a very old HiFi system.
My PC setup where all the "magic" (lol) happens, here connected with a ZoomFloppy, sometimes also to C64 via EasyFlash3.
The soldering corner - where I personally do not do much but let more skilled people do all the work.
Pile of hardware like C128D, another old PAL TV, a cartboard box full of Atari equipment which I don't use much atm and should bring in the cellar. |

So the book is out! Get your copy here: http://www.lulu.com/shop/goto80/computer-rooms/paperback/produc..
It features both 8-bit and other computers. Both tidy rooms and total chaos.
Some of the photos are from this thread, but most are not. 36 pages in full colour.
So far it's been a success, and it even received an award by the geek-cool F.A.T. Lab organization (see image).
Greetz!
