if you come to X, bring your CRAP!

... and by CRAP i mean those small/low capacity SD cards that are hiding in your drawer of doom and that are you no more using anyway. those can still serve as good testing material for hardening the firmware not only of the projects i am working on (i will collect and transfer whatever dupes to eg sd2iec people). i cant offer you anything except using them for testing, but hey.... =)

and since you can't tell it often enough, lets also quote some posts from this thread:

Quoting Count Zero

Perfect time for my usual call then:

PLEASE bring exotic carts to X-2014 so we can try to dump them there. During the last years we got some very nice dumps and I'd sure like to fill some binary gaps here to properly present them on the wiki.
Especially ROBCOM cartridges with manual (mail any scans!) and early "strange" KCS productions are of interest. I have a strong feeling there is something between the so far found cheapish 2 (or was it 4? - too lazy to check) kb loader things and the KCS PowerCart.

PM me for any related questions.

Quoting Groepaz

and while we are at it... i am also still looking for a couple input 64 issues, it would be cool to make the collection complete this X....

I have some unused stuff laying around the closet, which I will bring to X:

2 x 1581 diskdrives.
1 x C64 NTSC
1 x 110Volt 1541

And maybe some more (anyone interested in a Mattel Aquarius?)

The 1581 disk drives are 'refurbished'. A few years ago you could buy 1581 housings and I put some Amiga drives in them.
They work 100% with the C64.

The C64 NTSC + 1541 USA diskdrive are virtually sold.

I also bring a C16 and a Plus4 which you can get from me in exchange for a few bucks.
Cleaning up the closets ;-)

Oh, I will be at X on Saturday afternoon due to some work blahblah :-/

MANY thanks to Exile for passing over 20 cartridges to us - including all the KCS carts with manuals! Will put them online as a special KCS package along with the rest soon.

Also Git and Peiselulli came along with some eprommed data which I now dumped and will check vs available ROMs. Even though the rr.c64.org wiki will not cover all those 4 to 16kb cartridges in such detail as the freezers, we sure would like to bundle and describe all those tape and disk speeders, monitor carts, etc. at least partially similar to the http://rr.c64.org/wiki/Extensions

So if you feel a strong urge to sort out a dozen tape speeders, monitor carts or alike oddities and make up a wiki page for the masses of it - pls contact me :)

As the wiki is anonymous and ad-free there is not even fame for you (if you don't credit yourself)! Just the challenge to document obscure illegal opcode S-Mon Editions from Hitmen ... :)

I've got an SX-64 with modified ROM, interested in that too?
If so, how can I dump in a way / to a file that you can use?

Mace: just enable the modified kernal and use e.g. Kernal-Extractor V1.0 to create a dump. While I am personally not too much into kernal rom replacements others sure are hence such efforts are never wasted time :)

Exile: I was. Thanks. :)

Sadly the PLA gave up the smoke after 10 minutes of usage when I got it back home. But that's not a biggie these days.
