too late. c65 would have rocked back when the userbase was still huge. most of them would have upgraded to a c65. but it should have happened in the late 80's.
not that I dont find this exciting, but it's not gonna fly. (many users, lots of software, etc) |

more like: when the c128 was made - in late 80s 8bit era was over and amiga rocked it :) |

You're quite right. The MEGA65 / C65GS project is not about sensible market shares -- it is about fun for us (in the building and in the using), and sharing that fun with those who would like to do so.

A bit off topic perhaps:
I had a C65 for some years in the late 90's, bought from "Sandinge Data" in Sweden. It started nicely and worked sort of well, although the "kernal" was obviously not finished. If I remember correctly it even had a little built in machine code monitor. I should have kept it for longer given the large sums of money involved in C65 auctions during the last few years. :)
