Fundraiser for Skrolli, a printed computer culture magazine
The editorial staff of Skrolli, a printed computer culture magazine, claims that they have made the best computer mag in the world. Now they aim to print it in English and need some funds for that.

Yes, but also other topics can be interesting at times. The latest issue has an article about Russian Speccy compatible computers... Charming, isn't it? ...What? Did I hear you saying "no"? |

As far as I'm, concerned, if I supported anything like magazine through "kickstarter-like" sites. It would be a magazine made by people coming from C64 scene, looking at computer culture through the optics of C64 scene/demoscene.
Russian speccy clones are nothing new to me. What is interesting about those clones, is fact, that some of the best demos made for them was unable to run on standard speccy machines. What is/was also interesting was strong scene that evolved around speccy platform in first decade of this century, having it's own parties and producing a lot of interesting demoscene art. It's unfortunately mostly dead/inactive nowadays, as far as I have heard. |

Beats me how that could be an interesting fact, to be honest. :) |

I recommend Skrolli. You may know some of the regular writers, so certainly there is some C-64/Oldschool perspective present. I think it is good that the mag takes a wide perspective on the computer culture. Also, mainstream "computer" magazines are very product centered and just advertise games, cameras and other consumer crap. Skrolli is about the real thing. I wish succesful fundraising for them. |

I should have written it more clearly. Some of tbe best ***SPECCY*** demos, made on them.. that might probably give more sense. It was more or less meant ironically anyway. |
