CGTerm and file downloading help please..
Either I'm losing my mind or I'm doing something stupid..
I've got files before but after a long layoff I'm struggling. Was having a look around The Hidden and found something I wanted I typed D and the file number then when it came up start transfer I hit Esc then T followed by R then P and hit return but all I'm getting is some garbage on the screen at the cursor and no file, the little yellow window says No filename timed out.
I thought that's what I had done before but its not working, both sides are set to punter and the CTerm PDF says but I'm not getting a requester up for the filename to save as, it just times out.
CGterm 1.72b...
I know its me but as I'm stressed out because of my daughters anorexia I'm just driving myself insane trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong..
I'm also annoyed with myself for tying up the BBS..
Feel like such a pillock...All for a certain extended edition game :)

TBH - and many users here try to help out whenever they know: The BBS is the place to ask such a question :) |

I only asked as I'd got help re CGTerm before, there was no intention to try and highlight usage of the BBS, I purely wanted to know if I am doing something wrong.
Apologies if it was misplaced its just that I notice people go on the BBS to just do what they want and leave rather than read messages, I aslo had posted to one of the mods on the BBS about something else and I didn't get a reply for whatever reason, I expect they were enjoying life elsewhere ;)
Any way, apologies if it was deemed not really the sort of place to ask, it genuinely was about the usage of CGTerm. |

I think there is a CGterm tutorial on the TRIAD website. |

Try xmodem. I think punter is only supported for uploading. You change protocol with T on the board. |

Punter sadly doesnt work on PC at all.
the only way to get punter working is to use a real c64 or 128 |

ehrm. there was a well working punter.com even for terminate. (why would it only work on c64 really) |

Syncterm is a nice attempt, but has no c/g Support and just XYZ Modem.
So concering Cbase Boards cgterm is the better choice. |
