I'd refer to Kodiak's comparison for game development options, who IMO knows what he's writing about:

You cannot compare modern high level language cross-compilers with e.g. Blitz Compiler.

AFAIK, XC=Basic is a high-level language for PC (does not run on C64), that compiles to 6502 code. Similar to how TRSE's Pascal compiles to 6502, but does not run on C64, or how cc65 does not run on C64 but produces 6502 code. Just another cross-development language for making C64 programs, that just happens to be Basic...

Didi: So games made in Simon's Basic is free to grab as well now? In my world Basic is Basic. Or should we hunt down games made in Simon's Basic now? To answer your question, yes, Flying Saucers +3 should have 0p too. Not that I care much anymore. Simon's Basic, here we go!

You cannot compare XC=Basic with old Commodore Basic V2. You can do much more with it and get much better compiled code. Flying Saucers is completely written in XC=Basic... did you notice?

Really nice to see you spend so much time on a great game made in ~60% basic.
