Love this image PAL! Not just because we are in same group, but I really love it. You had tough competition, but I think the 1st place is well deserved.
Regarding using sprites/rasters: I see people using FLI, IFLI, SuperHires Interlace etc. they all require rastertiming to work for the purpose of showing a better resolution, so using sprites and rastercolors might be a new "screenmode", but for me its visible on a normal C64 so it's valid.
Am I the only one thinking like this? |

We had a discussion years ago if there should be music played with compo pictures... Many agreed that music could influence your opinion about the picture and should be turned off. So how come this is any different?
In this case I really had to hold off myself to *not* judging the code with my vote.
Awesome picture and imho deserved winner, but grey dots in the visible border area?!? Really?!? |

This is one great picture. Amazing work Pal! But I'm just wondering... Shouldn't this be categorized as a one-file demo? I mean, with the sprites and rasters?
We had a discussion years ago if there should be music played with compo pictures... Many agreed that music could influence your opinion about the picture and should be turned off. So how come this is any different?
Not to take anything away from Pal!!!!! 10 out of 10, without a doubt!You did an awesome job. And maybe you just single-handedly raised the bar for all future GFX-compo's and others will follow and use the borders for to. |
