Zyron is right. This topic has been discussed in 1993 or 1994 already, shortly after the release of Portfolio. I did write an article about it which was printed in either Skyhigh, Relax or Vandalism News. I don't remember exactly in which one. It has been released together with the original pics if I remember correctly. However, Jerry/Triad sent me some unfriendly letters concerning this issue. :)
If we would discuss every retouched or converted picture of the last 10+ years it could become a fulltime job. ;-) |

| It doesn't matter at all, at least not to me. WEC just said he once saw a digitized picture similar to this one & I just pointed the direction. I also remeber this has been debated at least once before several years ago. I don't understand why you get so upset. :) |

| Even if it's retouched, why does it counts so much to bother about a picture which was released 13 years ago and reached a low, 7th place? It's like beating up someone who insulted you by stealing your toy-car when you were kids. |

I'm not confortable with the statement about a retouched digi image, as you couldn't be completely sure. Just recall the "human-scanner" tehnique (some graphics Dutch Breeze), or pictures from Valsary which match the original perfectly, but are actually handpixelled.
I neither do know how was this picture made, but I think that "Dane had taken the digi picture and added colour" is a bit early conclusion to draw. |

Gees, I'd really appreciate more specific proofs rather than childhood memories before accusing someone of cheating. I could ditch the same way 80% of the pictures ever released on C64.
Besides, a tiny hint, the very popular "looks like cheated" term applies to another picture from this compo. Please raise your voice there as well. |
