I'm totally NOT interested in F1 and never was and never understood why Germans watched Australian races on TV in the middle of the night.

But hell, this is ace, all the details and animations.

Nitpicking, the ending... couldn't some coder at least animate that chessboard flag somehow and let sth like greetings or credits or making of text run over it as a scroll and let some music loop on it. Then it would have gone to 11!!!!elf

As it is, only 9.5 (rounded up 10) :)
Very entertaining stuff, neatly done. And using ECM in a smart way.

@Redback: Quite impressive gfxian comeback/PETSCII firstie there

@redcrab: yup, 3d animation is ecm mode with only 64 necessary chars in the set. some other parts probably as well.

Wow what a massive demo! I haven’t got the time to study this thoroughly, but it seems pretty obvious that the beautiful rotating car and portraits have too many colors to be “actual petscii” per my definition, but nice work nevertheless!

Freaking awesome! I've learnt more about F1 from this demo than ever in my life from various sources. The 3D rotation animation blew my mind too.

technical audiovisual marvel, the spinning car has to be seen to be believed - and skilled direction should keep everybody hooked for the full run and beyond.

Nice parts in this demo. Great animations and that score by Jammer, which is so rich; animated instrumental music!

Wow, didn't know it was possible to do that much with PETSCII! That 3d spinning car is incredible.
