really, really intense piece of art. this is one of a kind, just like redcrab's entry is.
as stated on fb before, i was really thinking of getting a print of this one. the depth in this one is really outstanding. looking forward for more!

@Oswald: Ah, I see, but I suppose this can be said about any picture in any graphics mode on every 8bit computer compared to the bigger machines. :)

sorry, I thought you have done already stuff like this: http://creativejs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/ansi-art.png

your tech reminds me of these. because of smaller resolution / nr of chars the colors doesnt blend as nicely as with ansi is what I ment.

Thanks to all for the comments. A couple of quick notes:

@Oswald: I don't know how you mean the 'dos ascii style' as this is my first ever work using system chars on any machine. :)

@Bitbreaker: I didn't see how I could use more different characters in this one. I used the (characters) shapes that made sense to me (or made things easier even). Maybe it is a matter of experience, and that goes for the black background as well.

Reminds me somehow (i don't know why) that this could be a motive/theme from H.R. Giger! :)

Very nice! Very different style to Mermaid's entry, it's tough to choose a favourite between the two because I like each for different reasons.

black background should be mandatory IMHO - as that is what you can expect in a terminal program.

I wonder why all the petscii uses black as background and why this one only uses such few chars, a bit pity :-(
