Doesn't seem to work here, in plain vice. Maybe cartridge is needed for this to execute properly or something?

Well. The point of a screenshot is to give information about the release. As such a screenshot from an emulator is better than a photo of the screen - as long the emulated version is accurate. If it's not, a screenshot from real hw is of importance for fixing emulation, otherwise not. In this case the white text looked blue on your photo for example.
