At the party I was more impressed by the "thirteen" picture, but the more I look this the more I like it over anything else from the compo. The picture looks fantastic on the real thing with the colors blending to each other (although quite a bit of the picture remains hidden outside the visible screen area). The dithering is fresh and brings unique texture to the whole picture. Border areas are indeed better integrated into the picture than in any other picture I've seen. The skin tones are outstanding. Marvelous picture!

Wow, amazing technique in both compo entrys. This is another impressive work. I tried a few times to create something similar but always got an "pattern overflow error" in my brain after a while.

Carrion:
I developed the technique and wanted an expression of the trick I’m doing with the rasterbars and sprites in the border, so the whole image feels to have one unified expression. I got tired of ordered dithering in traditional way, since it usually gave pretty boring chroma-luminance bars on the real machine and wanted to have a new subpixel feeling to my images. I still think they give a feeling of “more colors”, with a bit of freedom of just using luma-pairs, but also with a feeling of being almost textile in quality.

The Hoaxers demo goes under a codename (as previous ones) by star constellation, stars, planets and so forth. In old star globes we still find naming of those from old mythology and not seldom was astrology and the Zodiac used in the calendars, sometimes found still in churches all around as a special bell. The signs shown here refers to those whom I have loved, women of the Taurus signs. I kept that, as I did with the background, which also plays a little on some of the upcoming graphics and effects. If you watch the fingers visible you can get hints of the numbers 1 and 3. Which made this one act as a double promotion, kind of.

I'll play guess game. I'm Taurus, James is Virgo. I'm still rather enthusiastic about sid making, he's sort of burnt out. Good guess? :D

wow! look at these colors.... \o/
for me it's an apogee of Joe's 136 col technique. Truly awesome from technical point of view.
For the motive? I'd love to see something new from your James - a landshaft? maybe ;) made with you excellent technique.
You also got my curiosity with Taurus + Virgo? and 13?
wanna elaborate?

It's so fantastic to see and read all comments. I'm really grateful.
And Hein is on the spot, he knows:
If you study Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci and other portraits from that time,
you might find some of those several layers I put there.
For the lazy ones: I used this one as well as a promo for the upcoming Censor demo,
with the girl showing 2 numbers with her hands. 1 3

There was a minor flaw with the voting system, not for gaining any doubts about my own work.
But the documents handed out seemed to not be followed in the right order and there was
(in the music and graphic compo) 1 piece missing or changed order. This made many,
me included, part from the compressed sheets giving points at the wrong submittance,
although rechecked several times, some of the things didn’t add up.
Say you have 13 votes, but there was 15 entries and why did I write 8 on that release?

I’m perfectly comfortable with my work and am glad to inspire in any way.
Gubbdata is the next biggest Swedish compo to visit and submit to. Wished you where there

Indeed, out of this earth, just like Joe's other piece released at Gubb. Looks inspired by Italian Renaissance works.
