I've got a byte to bit compressor tool for C64 somewhere. It takes a whole byte as input and produces one bit (0 or 1) as output. Needless to say, the compression process is not fully lossless. If I remember correctly it is also not fully deterministic in the sense that the same byte value sometimes produces 1 and sometimes 0.

Anyway: When it comes to VIC2Calc, I can see that some beginners may fint it useful, so why not!

Or bit to byte converter. Input: 0 or 1. Output: $00 or $01.

Guys, take it for what it is. Every tool that somehow helps you back on track after years away from coding is great, imo. Good work, John, supporting the newbies into the scene as well as the oldest that could need a helping hand sometimes!

just be careful: some loaders don't like setting $dd00 this way...
