I have tested this version extensively with VICE and on a C64C with 1541U II (not Plus) and Firmware 3.7 with the following result: The game basically works but crashes sometimes after the Protivision Intro (VICE & Original C64). It also crashes when leaving the options menu but only on original C64 with 1541U II, obviously after automatic saving on cartridge. Apparently there are no crashes during the game, but I could only test it with easy game settings and life trainer until the end scene. Normal settings also seems to work (only tested with 1-2 levels without trainer).

Solution: sound goes silent when watching the end sequence using the trainer menu. Afterwards the options have to be used on the menu to raise the volume again (or play without sound).

Hm, must be some vice option change (investigating). With -default all seems fine.

I don't know the original of this game but does it also have a default volume setting of 0?

Update version of Soul Force +8DP to include a workaround/fix to compensate for a faulty eAPI implementation in Ultimate64 & 1541U2+. The bugs in the firmware in 1541U2 (no plus) mean that no version will work. Also the bug in Kung Fu Flash firmware <1.20 will probably cause the game to hang at the end of the level. Reported to Kim J0rgensen.
