Are you sure they are friends? And yes, I'm happy there is no sound saying "hello".

I like it a lot but check i.e. Leon's petscii stuff for a better example of how to do it.

Vanja: you're right about the petscii not being unique on the c64, but rather on the Commodore line of homecomputers (pet-series,c16,vic20,c64,c128). Though I must confess I have never seen any petscii gfx on any of the other commodore computers, even if its there too. Maybe it was the c64 BBS scene that put such a spotlight on petscii gfx?

Raf, I give releases the vote and feedback I think they deserve. Call it hypocrisy all you want if it makes you feel better, but how about voicing your complaints somewhere else, instead of in the comments to Ptoing's pic. After all he and his pic has nothing to do with my vote for your music collection.

Deev: well.. in '69 pos' dicks were just element of design. after we accidentally found out there are 69 tunes here we started to play around it ,and Surgeon is mega-pervert so it was very nice for him , indeed :P (yes , he encouraged me to swap arrow with dick as pointer) . sadly it's misunderstood by many but I _understand_ that it might be too obscene for some of you.

Raf: in my own opinion, when you create a music collection and fill it with dicks and other crap, it cheapens the whole thing before you've even started to listen to a tune. A good outfit in a music collection or magazine can improve a release, just as a bad one can tarnish it. If only the raw content counts, why don't we release collections as a plain group of files in a directory?

here we see hypocrisy of Mermaid giving such a thing 8 and appreciating it while downvoting '69 positions' music collection just because gfx containing dicks and other obscenes and
ignoring the fact that music collection is about music primarily. you're great!

What can I say, lovely picture. Ptoing, I want to have your babies.

As for PETSCII I wouldn't say it is unique to the C64...what about the PET (where the name comes from...) and the Vic 20/C16/+4?

Pretty amusing Ptoing. After seeing your hires work, I'd really like to see what you can do with PETSCII.

People do stuff like this on C64 for fun :) That is the main thing. If you're not having fun on the C64 and you release something which naturally takes the piss then that is not good. However what I see here (Although it is PETSCII) graphics, is something that was created for fun. The picture is fun to look at as well. I like it :)

Sceners who say they like c64 but not PETSCII gfx are simply morons. There is no graphics mode more unique to the c64 than the character graphics, and it's the root of all c64 graphics. The earliest games and programs had gfx solely based on the c64 character set. And PETSCII graphics is what makes people have fond memories of the c64 BBS scene. To me, this petscii screen by Ptoing is no joke. Actually its a nice first attempt. Try doing something with characters yourself and you will quickly find out. (;
