This was a first effort? Wow, it looks like you had been jamming on the 64 for a long time already. Impressive.

Not the best demo from Byterapers, but excellent considering only a 2 months effort. That should teach everyone that has been at it for 20 years or more ;) One of my favourite groups in the past, no doubt. Good show, chaps.

good stuff! but maybe you should also kick ass of Tatu "Mr. Sex/(B)" from Bugbear Entertainment Ltd. to get back on C-64 coding. ;) it'd be wicked collaboration and bring the Mike back too (even some of he's pics are clearly wired; no disrespect).

I'd still like to see the "Wolfenstein/Doom" effect from Mr. Sex (compared to Reflex guys' similar effects in Mathematica).

Spent the last two days at work listening to the music for hours while programming. Gave me hours of energy!

The rest of the demo was great, twisters looked so smooth and who knew 8x8 plasma could look so good.

There are no sections in (B), just one big happy family. We do stuff for whatever platforms we like at the time (PC, Mobile, Amiga, C64..?). That "C64 section" is just supposed to be some kind of comeback statement like "(B) is back on the C64". Don't try to give it any deeper meanings. Never say never, but I don't see any Atari releases coming (no offense to Atari-people:)..

one thing that made me chuckle was that "byterapers c64 section" thing btw. now what was it like, (b) starting out on atari or what? :)

Just added couple of video links. The video was captured and encoded from the real C64 HW by Lemming/FIG (Thanks!).

I just uploaded a final release of the Unsigned demo. It is available from the (B) FTP and CSDb. The final version includes some minor fixes and improvements, see the readme.txt for details. Replace your old versions with this final version, it runs better.

PS. Thanks to everyone for very positive feedback!

PPS. Wow, that's a surprise! Dr.Voice of Panic&Eufrosyne?!?? Long time no see.. :)

What a nice surprise. I remember Suckho from Eufrosyne demos back in the MSDOS era. And now this. Finally a production on THE machine.
Superb soundtrack, too! Bring Mr. Sex back! ;]

An efficient use of rastertime. This demo functions on both Pal and NTSC machines.

so many nice little touches - just as a for instance: the text in the credits with the little flashes going over it :D and of course the bloody nice music by GrG :D

Loved it, very nice pixels on the 8x8 plasmas, and the character plasma during the intro was a nice touch. Best twisters I've seen in a while and they stayed on the screen long enough to be fully enjoyed!

Well done Saku, I wish I had your attention span. :-)

Very nice demo. Like someone said, it's mostly *just* 8x8-effects, but then take a look at the shaded chars used. They are made with such pixel love not seen since the 90's. Also coherent design of many screens, stuff like that bring up the impression of the demo alot.

..to sum it up. BoozeDesign got greeting -> cool demo ;).

Another thing is that one of the parts in this is something very simular to a part we have done and are working on... hmmm... but it does not matter because we do it different anyway... but it is interesting to see that you as starting out again and we are also starting out again and we had a simular idea that are not of what the demos have had in the past... cool and very inspiering as I said... very happy about your demo, I love it! I love it! I love it! Sterling it is!

Suckho - What splendid work! Don't be so hard on yourself, you did a sterling job, everything was just wonderful and had a great vibe.

6R6 - Love the remix! I was listening to Thrust Me, only yesterday, so another remix of a classic sid was very welcomed.

Great to see (B) back in action on C-64 and also great first C-64 release from Suckho! 7 weeks and you're already coding almost like a old-timer. Keep up the good work!

Musics fit very nicely in the demo. 200ms lag version is for emulators (I think). It syncs audio to be more suitable for emulators.

Now just get Mr. Sex back to do C-64 stuff instead of boring PC/console games (where's Unsound Minds 100% ?!? ;) and you'd have quite a dynamic duo in (B) C-64 coding department.

Suckho rules, this effort in under two month's time is very impressive! The Lightforce remix rocks as well.
Byterapers Inc should be higher up the charts.

As a C64 demo in 2009, this is really nice.
But as a first time effort by a new coder, this is pretty much unbelievable.

What is the second version with the "200 ms lag" for?

Submitted by Jammer on 25 October 2009
teh freshness \o/ very innovative and enjoyable ways to hide the fact that effects are mostly ugly 8x8 and code is really not the top notch one :D also twister is not the mightiest one in the market :D great music from glenn ;)

Suckho and GRG..... ha ha.... and more ha ha..... it is absolutely looking so cool and sounds very right. I think this is one of the better demos I have seen in a long time due to the incredible nice feeling of the whole thing. Very impressed by your fast progress with creating code for the c64... It must have been a blast for you. Be proud and rape those bytes more in the future too...

Thanx for the greeting in the demo... inspiering to be apart of your universe, we will release something soon too, I promise! For the love of just doing it... Killer c64 demo you created this time around(your first time) and like crest say: thumbs up!

All the best to you all! Made me happy this one!

Have to say I was positively surprised, even though the magic fingers of Mr. Sex had not been at work on this prod .. good effort from Suckho (whose work is better known from Byterapers' PC demos). Grg's tune is also good, so thumbs up overall.
