thx for the explanation Violator, but I don't think the author even knew that =) it's just that many confuses China and Japan, all the same yellow rice eaters and so on. :D

Karate evolved from the northern shaolin kungfu styles in China which some japanese studied and then they brought it back to Japan where the hard styles evolved into karate.
