Decent tool, though the color clash handling can be improved. I usually have four modes for my editors: 1. refuse*, 2. replace color under cursor, 3. replace least used bitpair, 4. ask.
With 4. (ask) being my favourite: select color to replace or cancel.

Nothing more annoying than trying to add another pixel and screwing up a full char's colors.

* = refuse can be really handy when initializing a picture with, say $06-$0e-$03, for multi color charsets, or when "locking" certain bitpairs to create graphics for certain effects.

Definitely one of the best drawing tools on C64. Good work.

These functions are already on shortcut keys, e.g. "h"/"H" is changing pattern, "f"/"F" for shapes. There are some more described in the manual.

I've noticed many problems with this 0.45a, so there's a 0.45b now on the website. Please try that one as well.

It would be very helpful to have:
[/] toggle pattern
</> toggle tool (circle, rect, etc.)
Never used this, but looks like native killer gfx soft. One condition: use it with mouse and ram expansion for redo/undo.
