Great release, Really like Shogoon's tune. Intro instantly reminds me of Laura Karpman <3

Read it all again while enjoying a spare weekend of mine. Only wanted to point out this is the best issue of "Vandalism News" to date content-wise.

My tune "Glide" is declared for the 6581 chip, although it's a 8580 tune. The 8580 is practically always my first choice. ;)

I don't know where to report this, so here it goes.
But first let me say - great zine as always! fantastic job!

now I have some issues reading it on C128 (c64 mode) + 1581.
It loads Preface and "A Sweaty NTSC Jam" articles just fine but then with next articles it writes "Requires Disk 2" and so on. It starts with an article entitled "The Market" and follows for other articles.
Now... when I try to get back and load Preface again it asks for Disk 1. Even entering Jukebox requires me to insert Disk1 :(

Maybe it's my setup, badly written d81 to the disc, etc... but I thought I report this here.

btw: VN#68 worked fine on the very same setup.
btw2: d81 works fine on vice

Nice!
missing the charts though.
perhaps a Jury could set up a charts from VN anyways... since it is nice and keeps the scene spirit from the good old times ;) load of content took me quite some time to read, hence the late comments ;)

Great read! (as per usual).. From the jukebox I found "Vandal by Heart" particularly sweet out of the choices of delectable tunes. :)

I finally got around to reading (some of) this :-)

This is definitely a huge improvement over VN68 in terms of writing quality. Excellent work!

Some really nice articles, too. Particularly liked the Trap interview, demo section, awards, etc.

Fantastic work, everyone. Looking forward to VN70.

I miss the charts:
Okay a chart is depending on voters and it is meaningless to publish charts with only support from 10 voters.

But if people can spend hours commenting on this forum, facebook and write tweets it shouldnt be hard to take 10 minutes to vote.

@Remdy Try adding -drive8type 1581 to the command instead of -virtualdev.

Really great release. Lots of interesting articles. I particularly liked to read the "making of Rivalry" ... seeing it all put together. I bow to your dedication - there is a lot of work into making a release like this. Vandalism FTW.

Aha! "virtual device traps off" - dunno why my VICE had that enabled + I was recommended to use 3.1 - so I did.

Now it runs. YES! Thanks for support iAN

True drive emulation on, virtual device traps off, only one drive.
If anything fails, rename vice.ini and retry. Also, update VICE.

Submitted by Scarzix on 9 June 2019
Damn, I wonder why my VICE cannot go past the intro, once it's faded out. The drive spins... and screen is black, but no "tick-tick-tick"...
Running Windows 10 with VICE 3.0 for some reason stays stuck at track 34

As a rule of thumb - top reading and top audio included <3 And I totally love the intro! :D

Hed: We good dude, no worries here, and your still cool in my book, I hear what your saying dude. :-) Maybe I'm just not use to this 'new' scene. I mean, I've seen worse enemies (groups) work together on a common goal. Just seems like, if your (a group) not friendly with a group, then it's bad news to create something for them. I'm inspired by all groups, shit, even the scene itself lasting this long. This is why my lazy ass produces something every now, and then lol!!! Dudes (Everyone/Groups) keep on rocking, and creating these great products!! :-)

Kickback: We always came along good you and me, and we always had good talks and solved it all, so no hard feelings, mate. :) I just questioned the journalistic choice of the editors here, not you. Peace!

I won't get into a pissing contest over the comments. I always respond to emails, that wasn't the case in GP. Perfect example is the intro I created for Excess, which was done through email. You (Hed), and I know up until Slack came into play communication was spotty on your end. But, again I'm not gonna go down this road. It is all good, and we keep on moving. :-)

Very nice read, and fair report in The List. Some info is redundant and is repeated again in the mag, but all in all a nice read. I mainly like the articles that has been edited for real best, and the "cut-n-paste" parts not so much. However, I would like to offer some corrections for the news section:

(GP Chapter): Kickback is quoted saying that he quit GP because of lack of communication, and that he was not allowed to make productions for other groups. While he might have said so, an editor could have sent a PM to me in 2 minutes to get both sides of it (normal procedure for journalists). While Kickback might have felt communication was lacking (he repeatedly went under the radar and was unreachable for months eg.) there are no restrictions in GP in helping other groups (ok, helping rivals in the cracking scene with crack stuff wouldn't be so smart, but that is not the case here). We have helped other groups with music, gfx and code many times.

(HF Chapter): "Then the forum was closed by moderator hedning/Genesis Project". This is not true. The forum was closed, but not by me. I don't know why you would write that except to fuel some kind of conflict, and make me look bad, questioning my role as moderating saying I misuse my status here. Makes me a bit sad and afflicted. I work hard both in GP and on CSDb, and I am very careful not to mix these two different roles.

Great effort and a lot of passion to be found in here! thanks for that. And the intro is lovely :-)

I only noticed a tiny inaccuracy in your magazine reviews chapter. Namely there is no 1581 version of "Attitude". If there is an upload offered on CSDb, this is an unofficial and unsupported release, and I have no idea who had uploaded it. Apart from that very minor detail thank you for an enormous effort!
