Following a discussion with SLC around a neat little trick, protecting the tape version of StarPaws, the byte $800f should be in the rang of 1 to 5. If it is zero or 6 and above, the game will eventually crash.

I started looking at a number of versions and much to my surprise this version has a zero. But of course Zoltan has patched out the detection and also left a small trademark :-)

There will be more meat to this in an upcoming Fairlight TV episode just recorded.
