I should add that the same thing happens both for the gtk version and the sdl version that can be downloaded here from this page.

A question: I'm on MacOS Catalina. When I try to run x64sc from the command line like this (from within the Mac app bundle), it starts nicely:

./x64sc

However, as soon as I do something like the following, VICE appears for half a second in the dock, but then just closes down:

./x64sc -help

To sum it up: I can start the app itself, without any parameters, but as soon as I try to add any kind of command line parameters (not just -help) it won't start. Maybe this is some known bug already? Maybe it is only me doing something wrong?

Now I promise I'll port it someday to C64 Debugger, but first I need to port my snapshots recorder upstream :) Great work guys as always, it is a real pleasure to see your code and think about merges :)

Anyone experiencing problems, please first reset your settings and repeat the test.

Anyone with performance issues, try changing the sound fragment size (smaller is better, ideally very small will work), then find the smallest buffer size that is stable for you using that frag size. Try using a sample rate that matches your hardware, one of 44100 or 48000.

I just provided on SF a gtk3_pos_it.vkm as it's impossible otherwise for me using this VICE with my italian keyboard, while maintaining C64 positional keys, I replicated the keys as in WinVICE 3.2

it works even on my oldish i5 laptop - try resetting the settings, and play around with the sound buffer settings.

Is it just me who gets 94~95% emulation speed on the x64sc from the x64 bins shared in the url? Using a AMD 3600x CPu with plenty of ram and shit, also recording to mp4 the emu closes down after 5 sec.

@Raistlin The sound issues which i had are gone, i had to switch sid's to get a good sound for a while, but this 3.5 r39427 i just built seems very solid.

Nice work! I’ve been testing this for a while now and, yeah, I think it’s a huge improvement over the last. It would be interesting to hear from those who’ve been complaining about audio quality on recent releases about whether or not this is now sorted out..?

Great work, anyway. Thanks for all the hard work.

Eh nvm.. had stupid roms issue for x128. But Alt-H still fails in x64sc. Log says : "Error - monitor_open: could not open monitor console." but there is no console.
