Little fun fact about this release: It seems that with this picture Duce has finally fully overcome his fear of purple! ;-)
Cause until 2008, "Toijala", his first c64 picture (!) from 2003 was the only Duce-picture that contained at least some purple pixels (about 30 maybe! 8).
He first started using the color very moderately again in 2008 with "What's up doc"! ;-)

Great work.

Those circles are outstanding, although I miss the interpolation of the dark ones folding back in to the center.
In this mode it's hardly possible of course.
Part from the technical view and the border hacx, I like the image very much.
Reminds me of the early Italian Futurists somehow. At least in poetry.

Easily my fave from the GFX compo. Shame Tape could not manage to finish the sideborders in time.

O hai & thanx for all! But hey, this compo version is unfortunately unfinished :( , there are sideborders missing and we just had not enough time to fix them... but 100% version will come downloadable ASAP. Here's a link for a shot how it should look like : http://hevonkuusi.org/~duce/gfx/must_ache_the_moustache.gif

Incredibly nice use of the hires restrictions. Wonderful dithering technique. Very nice motive. On top of that, this is the technically best image that was shown in the compo. I lift my hat!

If I voted at X’2010, it might have gone something like:

#1 Don’t Turn/Ooz
I really like this picture. I think it’s my favourite from X’2010. I love all the obvious manual labour.

#2 25 Years of Yie Ar Kung-Fu /Veto
Great NUFLI image, and manages not to look like a ZX Spectrum image. The foliage to the lower left works really well. I’m not to sure about the female to the left.

#3 Must Ache the Moustache /Duce
Great use of hires. Upper and lower border always gets a thumbs up. I don’t know what it is, but some hires seem a bit more ZX Spectrum than others.

Good to see a lot of entries to this years X, just too bad many of them look like they have at some point be passed through a converter.
