Another 1750 REU expanded, which led me back to this tool. Just in case my previous comments were confusing, this is a VERY GOOD tool to detect and test a 1750/1764 that has been modded beyond 512K. :)

Yep hangs with 512K REU indeed. (on hardware)

my point is that it should hang on an unmodified 512k REU. it DOES work on any size bigger than that.

I was a bit hasty there... seems like it stops detecting RAM at 1280K after all. Sorry about that. :)
Doesn't work with 1541u(2) emulation either, so no wonder there was something with x64sc (not that I've tried it).

EDIT: I need to stop posting hasty comments :) The reason it didn't find 1536K was that I had a little error in my REU.. so it definitely goes above 1280K.

"doesn't seem to work in VICE (x64sc tested)"
interestingly noone bothered to report it though, so who cares =P

looked into the test a bit... did you actually test it on an *unmodified* 512k REU? imho it must fail on that (ie run forever) -> http://pastebin.com/zTxaGGy7

Out of curiosity, tested this today with a 512K 1750 REU on the C64 and it works like it should; also this tool detects if the REU has been expanded beyond 512K using the support-logic+RAM piggybacking technique and shows (and tests) whether the unit has 768K, 1024K,1280K..etc up to 2048K.
Nice one.

Apparently REU TESTER V1.20 is just one of the files on this D64.

would be interesting to know if this actually works on real C64+REU 512k, doesn't seem to work in VICE (x64sc tested)
