In case you missed, there's a 2.5 version a while ago with note-detection, step-playing, etc....

Yes, you are right, it displays registers after passed through the RAM under the I/O area.
Also you can switch off 1,2,3 voices.

I mainly made it to record the individual sounds of the c64 music for making remixes with keeping some amazing real C64 analog sounds (a bit FX-ed).
However I use it to learn some tricks from the Masters' (JT,SHG,DRX,etc.) SIDs when I slow down the speed to get chords/notes/waveforms/ringmodulator/pulse/filter tricks which I don't really know how to do.

That's why, I advise it to musicians/remixers.
