“ During development i've also noticed that it might be possible to pull this effect off with sprites, thus being able to put it into all borders, too (but without rotation). Would possibly require a fairly complicated sprite-crunching setup, though.”

If only there were a suitable demo compo to pull off such a mad trick? Hmm.馃

Amazing stuff, Krill!

Actually, in a full-blown demo, it'd be quite simple to have this zoom AND rotate AND scroll it, too. Zooming and rotation would be fixed to the same degree of freedom, but it might look cool anyhow. The pattern would probably be quite forgiving to quantisation errors when packing to charsets+screens, too. :)

During development i've also noticed that it might be possible to pull this effect off with sprites, thus being able to put it into all borders, too (but without rotation). Would possibly require a fairly complicated sprite-crunching setup, though.

Aaaah, demo.

Joe: Where did that ringmod thingy first appear? I originally ripped it from http://csdb.dk/search/?search=beta+skip to use it in http://csdb.dk/release/?id=2732.

HCL: Why, after YOU, good sir. 'Tis a pleasure to meet an expert on unfamiliar terrain.

Excellent one here. If running on vice and it does not autorun, ensure that the "inject prg to ram" is disabled in the settings.
