One real issue at least is that the US charset has a '\' instead of '£'.

(uhm.. not so sure anymore about what I just said. It is probably wrong.)

@joe/marq: Note that some of these pairs of identical chars (in the English ROM font) are actually different on machines with Swedish (and probably others) ROM fonts, so on those machines it matters which one you chose after all. At least if I remember correctly. I couldn't find a Swedish PETSCII reference right away when I googled for it now, so I couldn't verify that what I am saying right now is actually correct.

Minor fixes: experimental tablet mode, better responsiveness and .pet export.

A minor update: esc will remove the selection and prefs.txt can reside in your home directory too – the program will try to find it in the app's folder now as well on recent OSX versions.

If you're running this on a Mac and prefs.txt doesn't seem to do anything, try moving it to your home folder (/Users/noob or whatever your username is).

Because on the PET and VIC the lines were only one pixel wide and thus different. C64/Plus4 chars are thick and the difference was lost.

Finally got it working, part from finding an old obsolete version of Java JRE to get it running!
I have a question about the charset. At two places (or 4 if one wants) there is repeated chars:
$40 and $43 plus $42 and $5d, how come?

Neat! I should try this impossible mode soon I think... Some day, at least... In private...

@wil:
With "Space" you can toggle selection on and off.

Great tool! So many functions, I recommend to check the list of commands here: http://www.kameli.net/marq/?page_id=2717
However, I still have a question: how do I exit selection mode? I thought that ESC would naturally end it (like typing mode) but this isn't the case.
