@Count Zero, I bought some 1541-floppys over Ebay about 10 years ago and one of them can't read anything in the beginning. It searched and searched for the file but don't start loading it. After i let this tool here run through two times, this 1541 worked like a charm again for the next years. So there must be something, that this tool here does very well, otherwise this would not have happened this way. I don't care what this tool exactly did with the floppy-head, but i was very satisfied with the end-result and therefore it's a good tool for me.

Erm ... no ... the measurement there can be a little too random. Others may and surely can judge better wether constant head rattle aligns a drive to $something.

Indeed good tool. Had it on a disk, back in the 80's.
