You are right, connecting the counter tube looks like the tricky part. 20 years ago the hardware connection was done by my teacher and unfortunately I was not able to remember or recover any details about the hardware and how it was connected.
According to my notes, the requirement was, that the counter creates signals at a specific location (byte) within I/O Area #1 ($DE00-$DEFF, 56832-57087) or I/O Area #2 ($DF00-$DFFF, 57088-57343). |

| Nice one. You would not have any documentation about the hardware itself I guess? Geigercounters are available almost everywhere, connecting them to the userport however is not _that_ trivial indeed. |
