Hi, the real issue was a "sta $d011" was missing in irq init of one demo part on diskside 2. Rendering the IRQ to sometimes fail and otherwise work depending on D011 state when the sei started. A silly human-error in last minute check-in of updated code during the party.

A 1541C was originally used in the compo, and it loaded all parts but the last. We reran the demo once after the main compo had finished, this time using a 1541Ultimate 2 connected to another C64. The same cartridge (Retro Replay with TFR 0.8, kill before run) was used both times.

Party code, warm disk drives, and long IEC cables just don't mix well :)

The computer is OK (it has been the compo machine for LCP, Gubbdata and BFP). Censor tested the demo on that very machine before the compo without any bugs. The explainations/theories I got from Censor right after the crash was 1. buggy diskdrive (diskdrive was not the same as in the previous test), 2. Cartridge used (?). When running from the 1541U2 instead of the disk it worked fine.

would be interesting to know more, like what kind of board (250469 or older one) and equipment (good old disk drive or fancy new hardware) they used at compo.
