Still have to try this, but I can think of many use cases for this, also for games. Nice one, thanks!

Yes, Patryk Seregiet was kind enough to test it and confirm it works in Wine on Linux.

@Digger: I'm not sure I understand your question, but I'll give it a go anyway (please elaborate if I'm going in the wrong direction :)).

Chars (single color or multicolor) are packed and reused if possible. Char colors (if different per char) are stored as well. If they are all identical the color value is written in the include file.

I'm sure the Delphi version is so old (nearly last century) that it should run fine in WINE or similar on *nix :)

Nice work (judging from the manual), I love how you can assign bit pairs.
How does it deal with multi/hires (charmode) pixels in one image though – don't you need to separate into layers? Or does the converter do it?

And shame it's not cross platform though.

Thumbs up for using Delphi! Loved working with this language back then.

Totally need to give this tool a spin!

Oswald, this is meant to make it easier to convert graphics drawn for the c64, so yes - you need to already be using the c64 palette.

its hard to understand what is the purpose of this, just trying to convert a random jpg from the net results in just a lot of too many colors msg. should the pictures be of already c64 colors, and this is mostly meant as merging manipulating existing gfx ?

@Raistlin: Thank you, you're welcome :)

I hope that in releasing the source code in the package I won't have to bother with any "why is this Windows only" comments ;)

Great work, Walt! I tried this out a while ago (thanks for the early preview) and it seemed great - certainly should save a whole lot of time from writing custom converters for weird demo data formats :-) .. especially cool that you can separate sprite overlays etc.

Highly recommend people give this a spin :-)
