Been using this a bit recently and the timing sometimes sounds a little bit off and things dont feel quite right compared to what I'm used to with the real Sid Wizard on the 64 which is rock solid. Jumpy cursors too. Could be down to the emulation maybe. Just some feedback for you and would love to see this improved. | User Comment Submitted by Technotron on 24 June 2022

Thank you for the Linux version. | User Comment Submitted by Hermit on 21 June 2022
Only some fixes and a little enhancement (plus/minus to change drive) are made to the SW-1.9 C64 version, see more details in the manual.
(Apart from that, the SID-Wizard prg included in the emulated one was changed significantly to accomodate to the new requirements like folder-switching, MIDI-handling. Essentially a fake KERNAL and custom ROM code was made for the asynchronous communication between the prg and the emulation with some extra zeropage sentinels.) | User Comment Submitted by Chris Wemyss on 20 June 2022
Oooh fantastic stuff!! Is there anything new in the v1.9 C64 version? | User Comment Submitted by goerp on 20 June 2022
Woohoo! I already found it great to use, but with easier IO it's perfect! | User Comment Submitted by DeMOSic on 20 June 2022

As long as at least some people use the program, the project isn't dead.
The best is yet to come, albeit with a different codename... | User Comment Submitted by Nobody on 20 June 2022
Holy s..t - thanks!
I've thought this genius project is dead...great to see it isn 't. | User Comment Submitted by chabee on 20 June 2022 User Comment Submitted by Hermit on 20 June 2022
A new version of SID-Wizard with 'built-in' emulation for ease of use and faster launching and IO-operations. Some minor fixes and enhancements were made to the SID-wizard-1.9.prg C64 version as well.
Linux 64bit (Debian package) and Windows 32bit versions are uploaded. If you have other Linux the .deb package can be extracted/browsed for example in Midnight Commander. No source-code this time (it's not in a publishable form yet). Dependency is SDL1.2 (dll included in Win version), on Linux libasound2 is needed for MIDI but ALSA is needed for sound anyway...
See more info in the manual/txt in the deb/zip packages.
Have a nice composing... |
