Bug is in the original GT (3 channel).
Will look and see if I can work out what’s happening.

Opened an issue an GitHub for merging SNG files. There seems to be a bug when merging more than 3 SNG files.

re: mac
cfg file is automatically generated and saved if it doesn’t already exist.
High mac CPU appears a to be an SDL2 issue. I’ve not yet found a way to solve that one.

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve seen this comment. Will have a think about what could be done for a future release.
Thanks for the feedback.

i would have two ideas which maybe enable me (and others?) to compose with a different approach.

Would it be possible to select which steps of a pattern are displayed, for easier editing? like, only display every 1st, 9th, 17th... step entry, with selectable spacing. or maybe even optionally to have a table/config file with selectable groove templates? I thought this would be a good tool for non destructive additive editing.

The other idea would be additive pasting, so one could compose side by side on two patterns and then paste them together, pasted notes are merged with what is there already.

i would eventually pick up composing again but i cannot always wrap my head around the long patterns to scroll through, maybe i am also spoiled by piano roll and stepsequencer editing.

It seems that the mac side of things is missing gtultra.cfg file - but I could copy it from the win32 side. Also linux folder is missing gtultra.cfg. Also takes a LOT of CPU on M1 hardware. Will try my old trusty intel mac later. Thanks for all the progress.

Did this work in the original GT / GTStereo? If so, I’ve probably overwritten those with other images in the charset!

awesome! i'm close fully converting to this version. just a bit nitpicking: acutes, double acutes, umlauts and whatever is there in the extended latin alphabet don't really work in the title/author field - the font doesn't display them and once exported as sid, they seem to be displayed in a weird codepage. nothing i can't do afterwards in sidedit though. :)

I had to change the master volume to 8.000000 instead of something like 3.202000 now everythings seems fine ^^

ahhh ;reSID mixing rate (in Hz)
24000 is by defaullt, in Goat Tracker it's ;reSID mixing rate (in Hz)
44100
so goat is CD quality, GTUltra far below that on default settings. I changed that, now it sounds better, still the output volume isn't the same ^^

Added Mac makefile as a separate download.
Just put it in the src folder and:

make -f makefile.mac

(you'll need to install sdl2 and gcc first)

Can you send me the .sng where you've noticed the difference in quality. Should be exactly the same (possibly SID emulation settings in GT .cfg file..). But I'll take a look.

Any bugs, etc - Please post in the forums

btw. the help function (F12) is
faulty in GT Ultra SHIFT+F1-F3 isn't follow mode anymore, like in GOAT, instead you can can activate and deactivate the follow mode with Shift+F2 or by pressening the mouse button at the buttom with that 3 down arrows

Sorry, but I still don't like it. It has to do with the sound output. Somewhat it lacks on bass and clearity, like it's lofi. Here is a example: https://we.tl/t-07KAWqPJm1 at first you can here it with goattracker, after that with GTUltra. It's not only the difference in volume, in the third and fourth example you can hear it with maximum output level. at first goat again and followed by GTUltra, you can cleary hear the difference with a good sound setup (studio setup). As long as the sound isn't the same I will prefer the old version, even there's no UNDO. :-/

Since last CSDB release (1.2.0):

Multiple .sng file support (load multiple .sng files and copy/paste between them)
Mac executable added to the release
Mac - fixed MIDI support
Linux executable added to the release
Linux - fixed automatic backup (crashed GTUltra)
4SID export fix (GTUltra quits when exporting, due to 6510 BCS being out of range)

Optional expanded Order List View (no repeat or transpose info)
True Stereo Panning per instrument (emulation only)
Definable SID Chip Pan positions (eg. place the 3rd SID in the center!)
Automatic regular .sng backups (user definable duration between saves)
Inter-pattern looping now optional
Optional “Classic” F1-F3 key use (shift-click on record button to enable)
Improved 6502 code for 9 and 12 channel SIDs for simpler playback
SID emulation now disabled when seeking to start position (the delay was noticeable and annoying)
Option to fully disable MIDI within now within .cfg file
Editor settings are now saved in .sng files: FV, PO, RO, NTSC/PAL, SID Type, HR Value, Speed, # SIDs, Stereo mode
