Detected SID is shown on the screen. 8580 is slightly smoother (the possible sample output values are distributed more evenly), but quieter at least in VICE. Digifix mod should NOT be used, because the 8580 DAC table is based on the non-modded setup. Also, you should not change the SID type in VICE without reloading the program.
