What CreaMD said.. no, wait, I'm not a musician! Point is I would love to do a demo, but I have too many other open projects. So, I'd love to have all my tools&games finished by tomorrow evening and then start a demo with CreaMD :)

Watching this makes me thinking about making another demo. But I like doing music more than coding and my bros aren't interested in C64 anymore... buuuheheeeeeee... ;-(

The curse of the pure coders. Being more motivated into coding new effects alone than struggling to include them into a demo presentation. And several previews staying in disc while you are longing for showing your pure coding work to the world. In that aspect, it maybe good for Fenek to release his stuff, though I dig the argument about the demo art turning into unpolished effect releases. Anyways, some really nice stuff here for the coder's view. A nice xmas present :)

Marco, now is the time to release the previews discs.

As I write this, this demo is #1 in the csdb charts .. which proves: some people don't care about presentation, at all :)

some very nice effects here, some of which have been seen in other forms in arise demos. still it hurts to see fenek release them in this way, but i can understand his motives behind it..

well, fractal tree was shown by fenek in biba 2/arise. i see that you guys haven't seen that, shame :P

Wow. Some of those effects felt kinda innovative. The last one with the vector-tree bending had me drop my jaw. Very nice. I have no objections that these routines are released like this and not in a complete polished demo. In fact, I think this is kinda interesting. Reminds me of how demos were released 20 years ago. Single files, sometimes just one effect and a tune.

Some nice stuff indeed, too bad it didn't wind up in a 'normal' demo.

Then again, releasing stuff like this has been done before: I remember The Human Autofire doing it in '89 I think.

Yeh, I started learning ASM some time ago, but as of late I did not have any time for it and it's not highest on my priority list.

ptoing: But that's why you're learning assembler, right? ;-D

I've only added just a simple 1x1 scroller to one of my tunes so far, though. But I'll consider doing more for my pictures in the future! "Graphics demos with music" rather than just "graphics", if it'll make people happier. :-)

Some nice stuff indeed, but I think musik/gfx and code are seperate things. If I release a finished/polished piece picture or a musician releases a finished, nice tune than that is equivalent to a polished one-file demo imo, in terms of presentation. It's not like graphicians and musicians go and release workstages of pictures they are not gonna finish. And I for my part like seeing just nice pictures and releasing such myself. If I would wait for a coder to fiddle something around my picture it would take me ages to get anything out.

Hm, a while ago everyone seemed so happy about people releasing pictures outside of compos, and now it is suddenly a bad thing? Sheesh, you guys are hard to please.

Didn't Fenek want to stop making demos on C64? At least he wrote something like that in the prod notes to Sweet Infection. This would explain this unpolished release of quite nice routines.

I have to agree with Higgie and Mace and I deeply hope it will _not_ become a fashion amongst coders.

Looks like some sort of "code workstages" for Sweet Infection.
Like when people whine about gfx entries: now nobody can say the code was just wired, i.e. every bit has to be hand-set by the coder.

wow. there are a few real nice fx in there. i especially like the drops, the thrachcube and the last one (trashtree). and good msx as well.
as said - a rather unusual way of releasing; would be great for sure to see those arranged in a full-demo!

@Cruzer: I agree with Higgie. It would turn CSDB into a trashcan instead of a database. In fact, I think it's a waste that pixelers release separate files instead of joining with a coder/composer to make it a bit more enjoyable and longer lasting.

@cruzer: please don't do it! if all coders would do so, it would be the end of demos as we know them. it's a shame that all those nice gfx, music and routines are not used in a decent demo. i'm afraid (and you should be, too!) that i finally have to learn coding on c64 to prevent the scene from this fate. ;)

Some nice, although unfinished effects. I might be tempted to do the same with some of the fx in my trashcan, since I don't enjoy all the hassle with linking them together. Gfxers and musicians often release their work as single files, so why can't coders do the same?

Wow!!I'd like to see all these nice effect linked in a demo. Did you have a nervous breakdown to release them in this way?

What a bummer to release all these good effects in such a sloppy way :(((.

:( you should have put these fx into a demo.

I renamed the files to what I believe to be the correct suffix of ".prg" and all was good... nice vector type effects!

One of the parts needs a joystick to control the ball on the blue staircase! Great code!

Baaaaad Fenek!

I fixed the file-extensions and re-uploaded the zip.
.prg's are loadable in your fave emulator now.
