this was just a reminder, im pretty pissed about you spammers, that has got nothing to do with me beeing a moderator, how should i state that?
in any case, it wont lead to results, you should all know the rules, but they are hardly kept
if someone enforces them, moaning starts
so we just keep it the anarchy here, just as you like

not spamming the releases comments with your worthless spam...

this is probably the worst warning a mod can give, with unneeded and unwanted harsh words.

a good mod would say:

"People, please take this discussion to the forum. The comments should only be used to comment on the production itself. Thanks in advance!"

pasted the respective info in production notes for you :) (yes i agree, that kinda info should be there)

also please read maintaining periodically updated entries and incase you have something useful to say besides bitching, do it there.

Accepting the rule 'every update of a prog gets a new entry' I find it a little bit sad that the new entries mostly come without some 'Production Notes' that give some infos on the updates; such kind of 'new entry' would at least make _some_ sense.

maybe misplaced here but Im 100% with yago.
Each release an entry for c64.
The ONE-TO-BE-USED release for PC only.

Sledge: I disagree, I prefer this release scheme to that of VICE for instance. The bugs are fixed on a regular basis, you don't have to wait weeks or months to see a problem rectified or a new feature implemented. I can't see what's so annoying about it - if new versions are too frequent to your taste, you always have the option of downloading them once a month/year or whatever timeframe suits you, don't you?

assidous: i am with you... for c64 releases this "every release gets a new entry"-scheme might be useful, but pc-releases should be treated with more tolerance

So now it's like the developer should adjust his release scheme to fit CSDb, isn't it? Accept it as a fact that the author can release as many versions as he deems necessary and the fact that an idiotic "every new application build gets its own entry" rule applies here will certainly not prevent him from doing so.

And btw, inspite of the numeration this release features a major fix.

I learned last time that we should not comment on this. We need to accept the fact that every release gets an entry, and that is the way it is supposed to be.

I agree on the major release part btw, it's a bit foolish to create a new entry for every fix. Perhaps bundling the fixes and then release a new major would be a smarter release scheme.

Perhaps daily snapshots should be just that. Daily snapshots. Release when there is actually a release...

v.1.0.0.0.1.10.1.11.1 seems crazy!
